Tube rice pudding is a Taiwanese specialty consisting of a stir-fried sticky rice mixture that is seasoned and steamed in a bamboo tube. Due to the steaming process in a tube, the rice pudding obtains a cylindrical shape, hence the name. Apart from the sticky rice, the dish usually contains Chinese mushrooms, pork, shallots, and eggs.

A typical sweet and spicy sauce traditionally complements this authentic rice pudding. More commonly cooked in iron cups these days, this rice dish is available with different flavorings in different parts across Taiwan and is usually eaten for breakfast.
