Taurasi

These age-worthy, full-bodied red Italian wines must be produced with a minimum of 85% Aglianico grapes. Often dubbed as the Barolo of the south, Taurasi wines are characterized by their firm tannins and medium acidity. They typically display fruit notes of raspberries, plums, and dark cherries, which may be complemented by complex nuances of tar, tobacco, or leather.

Taurasi wines must be aged for a minimum of three years, including one year in the barrel, while the Riserva label extends the period to four years, including eighteen months in oak. They pair well with pasta dishes served with tomato or meat sauces, roasted and braised red meat, or game.
