As we head towards the first weekend of July, Tuscany, as usual, buzzes with festivals and events.

Two festivals dedicated to delicious tortelli
For those who love tortello, a major event dedicated to this Italian pasta variant is scheduled in Valdisieve. The Sagra del Tortello alla Pelaghese will take place in Pelago, offering hand-made potato tortelli and other local dishes, not to forget the famous bomboloni (Italian doughnuts) of Emilio.

Festivities continue in Valdarno Pisano! From Thursday to Sunday in Agnano Pisano, a small fraction of San Giuliano Terme, the traditional Sagra del Tortello, Stinco, e Birra Artigianale will occur. This festival, promising a menu full of quality products and evening entertainment for all ages, also offers dancing with live music in a separate area.
From local dishes to international street food
Each province, and even every small locality, has its unique product to boast. In Sticciano Scalo, a fraction of Roccastrada, the Sagra degli Strozzapreti and typical Maremmani products will be held. This ‘poor’ pasta variety, typical of Maremma grossetana, is served with superior sauces.

This weekend is also dedicated to gastronomic delights from all over the world at the Street Food Event along Corso Matteotti in Ponsacco. Selected food truck chefs will prepare delicious sweet and savory dishes, served with a wide selection of craft beers from around the world. Live music and entertainment will set the stage for this event.

In San Michele a Torri, a fraction of Scandicci and the Florentine Hills, join the Sagra del Fiore di Zucca Fritto to savor zucchini flowers along with other regional specialties.

The second edition of Sagra degli Antichi Sapori is set to welcome the summer of 2023 in Valpiana, a fraction of Massa Marittima. The menu includes traditional Maremmana dishes, including tortelli, fresh pasta, Tuscan crostini, pappa al pomodoro, grilled meat, fish, and much more.

The Sant’Agostino in Festa in Pistoia will celebrate itself and Tuscan flavors. Throughout the festival, you’ll be able to enjoy good food and entertainment until late at night.

Seafood lovers should not miss the Festa del Totano fritto in Bientina. Specialties at this historic festival will include seafood platters, risotto alla marinara, penne with scampi, and fried cod with polenta.

In Acquedotto di Paganico, a fraction of Capannori, you can enjoy the Sagra del Tagliarino, a ‘poor’ pasta prepared in Lucchesia and cooked with beans.
For a view with your aperitif, the Aperitivo sui Merli event at Palazzo dei Vicari in Scarperia offers a brief guided tour of the palace’s halls and exhibitions, followed by a refreshing drink with snacks on the stunning Torre del Cassero.
