Sausau

Sausau is a traditional dish originating from Wallis-et-Futuna, a French overseas territory. The dish is usually made with a simple combination of breadfruit and coconut milk. First, the breadfruit is placed on the grill and cooked on each side for ten minutes.

It's then peeled and tapped with a stick in order to soften it. Once opened, the breadfruit is cut into cubes and cooked in a saucepan with coconut milk for an hour. The dish is then left to cool for a few minutes before it's served and ready to be enjoyed.
