2024

The 2022 RAEN 'Bodega' Pinot Noir is a distinguished wine from the Sonoma Coast, specifically the Freestone-Occidental area. This 1.8-acre monopole vineyard, facing Bodega Bay and situated between the villages of Freestone and Occidental, is mere miles from the Pacific Ocean.

The proximity to the coast allows morning fog to envelop the vineyard, contributing to the wine's unique character. Notably, this site is the oldest meter-by-meter planting of Pinot Noir on the Sonoma Coast and is farmed entirely by hand due to its high density and steep slope.

Tasting notes reveal sun-warmed rose petals, wild strawberries, black cherries, and a rainy forest floor, followed by muddled blackberry, thyme, pine branches, and forni brown mushrooms, evoking the surrounding Redwood forest. On the palate, there's a harmonious interplay between red berries and dark fruit, seamlessly intertwined with exotic spices, zesty orange pith, and crushed gravel, leading to a seemingly everlasting finish.
