Potbrood

Potbrood is a traditional bread consisting of flour, yeast, sugar, eggs, salt, milk, and butter. Originally, the Boer settlers used to bake the bread in a cast iron pot that was placed in a pit in the ground, then lined with hot coals. Today, the bread is enjoying a revival and is usually served at a braai or as an accompaniment to potjiekos.
