Perl Las is a traditional blue cheese originating from Carmarthenshire in Wales. The cheese is made from pasteurized cow's milk and it's been produced by Caws Cenarth since 1987. Underneath its sea salt-rubbed rind, the texture is creamy with blue-green veins running throughout the paste.
The aromas are rich and bold, while the flavors are delicately salty, sweet, and creamy, with a lingering aftertaste of blue cheese. It's recommended to pair Perl Las with a glass of Sauternes or Port. The cheese can be used to create a blue cheese sauce, which is the ideal accompaniment to pasta dishes and steaks.
