Ozark Gold apples

Ozark Gold is an American apple variety that was initially grown in Missouri in 1970. The apples are round to cylindrical in shape, with a smooth, tough, and waxy skin. The texture of the flesh is crisp, fine-grained, and aqueous. The flavors are sweet, mildly acidic, and subtly tart, with notes of vanilla and honey that transform into hints of marzipan and pears.

Available in late summer, Ozark Gold apples are usually eaten raw, baked, or boiled. They can also be transformed into juice, blended into sauces, or paired with pork, poultry, and cheeses such as Camembert, Brie, and Gruyere.
