Morey-Saint-Denis Rouge | Local Wine Appellation From Morey-Saint-Denis, France | TasteAtlas

Morey-Saint-Denis Rouge

Morey-Saint-Denis is a French appellation located in Côte de Nuits (Côte-d’Or) region of Burgundy. The appellation mostly produces red wines made from Pinot Noir, while only five percent of production is focused on white wines.

Red Morey-Saint-Denis wines are typically ruby red with purple highlights. They usually display primary aromas of red and black fruits, which often open to nuances of violets, fruit brandy, or macerated fruit, while those aged over fifteen years may develop aromas of leather, truffles, and undergrowth. These wines are a perfect match to beef and game, as well as soft-centered cheeses.
