Melón de la Mancha are Piñonet or Piel de sapo variety melons grown in the area of Mancha, in the Autonomous Community of Castile-La Mancha. These melons are green with dark spots and stripes evenly distributed along the surface of the fruits.
The pulp of Melón de la Mancha is pale green-yellow to white and is extremely juicy and sweet. This succulent fruit is harvested from July to October which means it is only in season for four months. They are cut by hand, categorized according to their size and packaged and distributed in wooden or cardboard boxes.
