Recommendations

"The menu includes a page of “classics”, from which we chose this simply yet deliciously-prepared panfried foie gras with ginger bread. There were a few other foie gras-themed dishes that sounded particularly appealing, like the house platter of duck foie gras with chutney and toast, or foie gras carpaccio with honey sauce and sea salt."
"The onion soup (€9.50/AUD$15.45) was like drinking a bowl of happiness, it was laden with what felt like the lives of hundreds of onions cooked till tender and then layered with bread and then there’s the magic that is melted cheese."
"Onion soups, served burning hot, was a godsend for us on this January day. Caramelized onions plus grated cheese, yes please."
"If you are a fan of foie gras, then a meal at Comptoir de la Gastronomie is a must."
"Roasted duck breast - served with a balsamic sauce and mashed potatoes. The duck was perfectly roasted and packed with flavor. Extremely satisfying and a great balance to all the richness/creaminess of the foie gras dishes."
"The roasted duck breast was cooked perfectly, and the whipped potatoes were the best and most buttery potatoes I swear I have ever had."
"Magret de canard or a seared duck breast, a famous dish from south western France, is also my favorite. This dish you will taste a very thick but soft and juicy duck breast dressed with a sweet sauce that gives a honey and orange flavor."
"Our final plate was a gorgeous yet generous portion of pan-seared duck breast. Each bite is a crisp reminder that the French really do know how to crisp up a duck and find that perfect cook somewhere between mid-rare and medium."
"Fragrant, juicy, tender and perfectly, and I mean perfectly paired with the balsamic sauce."
"Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie is the Parisians’ favourite address to eat duck and specialities coming from the south west of France. Established in Paris since 1894, this French gastronomic institution is both a restaurant and a delicatessen. At the restaurant, you can enjoy the Classics - roasted duck breasts. All the dishes are to die for and are made from fresh ingredients. It is impossible not to like any of them."
