2024

Jawbox Small Batch Gin is a classic dry gin produced in small batches at a traditional distillery located on a wooded estate near Belfast, Northern Ireland. The name "Jawbox" originates from local slang for the deep, square kitchen sink known as the "Belfast sink." This gin has an alcohol volume of 43% and is available in a 70 cl bottle, following the classic London Dry gin style.

It features a pronounced aroma of juniper and pine, balanced with coriander and fresh citrus. On the palate, initial citrus and juniper notes evolve into peppery tones, green angelica, and subtle earthy flavors. The finish is citrusy, with a long-lasting presence of juniper and pine, complemented by the complexity of other botanical ingredients.

Jawbox uses eleven carefully selected botanicals, including locally sourced black mountain heather from Belfast's Black Mountain. Most of these ingredients are steeped and boiled, while three are processed using vapor extraction to preserve their delicate aromas.

For the classic "Jawbox & Tonic," 35 ml of Jawbox gin is served in a glass full of ice with 100 ml of tonic water and a slice of lime as garnish. Jawbox Small Batch Gin is a result of meticulous attention to detail and quality, crafted using traditional distillation methods to achieve a unique character and premium quality.

About Jawbox

The distillery is located on a sprawling 300-hectare estate near Belfast, dating back to the 16th century. This estate is home to both the distillery and the fields where grains for their gin are grown and harvested. After harvest, the grains are triple-distilled on-site in traditional copper pot stills.

The production process involves carefully selected botanical ingredients, including locally sourced black mountain heather from Belfast's Black Mountain. Distillation takes place in small batches, using traditional methods to ensure high quality and a unique character for the gin.
