James E. Pepper Distillery, located in Lexington, Kentucky, has a rich history dating back to the American Revolution. Originally founded by the Pepper family, the distillery was renowned for its 1776 Straight Bourbon and Rye, known for bold flavors and traditional craftsmanship.

Though it ceased operations in 1958, the distillery was revived in 2017, restoring its heritage and original recipes. Today, visitors can explore the historic site through guided tours, which showcase the distillery’s legacy and its artisanal production methods, along with tastings of their acclaimed spirits.
