The Hearach Single Malt is the inaugural whisky from the Isle of Harris Distillery, marking the revival of distilling traditions lost during the Pabbay clearances of the 1840s. The distillation process employs soft Hebridean water sourced from Abhainn Cnoc a’ Charrain, known for its low mineral content due to the ancient Lewisian gneiss over which it flows.

The spirit is matured in a selection of casks, includbourbon barrels and Oloroso and Fino sherry butts, chosen for their unique influence on the whisky's character. The Isle of Harris's oceanic climate, tempered by the Gulf Stream, provides stable temperatures that benefit the maturation process, contributing to the whisky's distinctive profile.
