Golden Doublet is an English cocktail made with a combination of orange juice, lime juice, and Grand Marnier. In order to prepare it, all ingredients should be shaken with ice, strained into a champagne flute, then topped with champagne.
The drink was invented by the legendary bartender Joe Gilmore in 1973 to commemorate the wedding of Princess Anne to Mark Phillips. The word
doublet in the cocktail’s name refers to Princess Anne’s horse on which she rode in the European Championships in 1973.
