"But this is the place for a bandeja paisa just as you’ll get it on the farm. Here the arepas are handmade, fat round balls of carefully grilled white corn flour. The chicharrón is in all its glory, crispy, tasty and fresh. The avocado gets mixed in with tomatoes and onion to make a refreshing salad. And sitting on top of the ground beef is a runny fried egg. Yes, it’s big – but you’ll want to eat every last bit, and wipe up the last of the bean gravy with some arepa."
"This is truly a gem hidden in the downtown of Bogota. Located in the 23rd Street and Fifth, El Envigadeño is a small and dark restaurant with a strange decoration -filled with Colombian “knick knacks” glued to the walls-, extremely diligent waitresses and the best bandeja paisa of Bogota. It costs around US$6 and the size -even bigger than your traditional bandeja- will leave you more than satisfied."
"I was pleasantly surprised when in a large wooden dish they served me the best bandeja paisa that I have eaten. There is not much aesthetics at the time of serving, because the ingredients are disordered on top of each other, but here the important thing is the flavor and the seasoning (in that they are careful). I left the venue completely satisfied and have returned frequently. I think that 23,000 pesos, plus the price of the drink, is worth paying when there is quantity and quality."
"Interesting, the best version of the dish I've tried was not from Medellín but from the El Envigadeño restaurant on Calle 23 with Carrera 5ª, in downtown Bogotá."
"It was cataloged as the best bandeja paisa in Bogotá in the extinct magazine Eskpe for several years and with a price that is close to 17 thousand pesos it is well worth going to try it. The dish itself is very complete and delicious, as well as abundant. The seasoning of the beans seems exquisite and the pork rind is always at its point: crispy, with some toasted meat and easy to eat."
