Dog's Nose

Dog’s nose is a vintage English cocktail made with a combination of gin, brown sugar, and either porter or stout beer. In order to prepare it, beer should be poured into a large glass and heated. Brown sugar and gin are then added to the glass, and the combination is stirred in order for the sugar to dissolve.

It is recommended to garnish the cocktail with grated nutmeg. Interestingly, Dog’s Nose is referenced in Charles Dickens’ first novel, The Pickwick Papers – the first edition was published in 1836.
