Cotton & Reed PX Dark Rum is a premium spirit crafted by Washington, D. C.'s first rum distillery, Cotton & Reed. This rum is produced from a blend of Louisiana and Brazilian molasses—75% first press and 25% blackstrap. After distillation, it undergoes aging for over 18 months in new American oak barrels, imparting rich vanilla and caramel notes.
The rum is then finished in Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry-seasoned casks, adding layers of dark fruit and a touch of sweetness. A final addition of cane syrup balances the oak and sherry tannins, resulting in a complex and luxurious profile.
