E. H. Taylor, Jr. Straight Rye is a Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery. This small batch, Bottled-in-Bond 100 proof rye whiskey pays tribute to Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., a pioneering figure in the bourbon industry.
Unlike many rye whiskies, this expression contains only rye and malted barley, with no corn in its mash bill. The result is an aroma full of dried fruit, black pepper, and a touch of fresh dill. A small sip brings an array of flavors both sweet and savory, with a terrific balance of dark spices and subtle caramel overtones.
The finish is especially pleasing, with an oaky dryness that lingers just long enough.
