Bianco Borgogno | Local Fortified Wine From Barolo, Italy | TasteAtlas

Bianco Borgogno

Borgogno Bianco is an Italian vermouth made from a white wine base that is produced from the Cortese grape. The wine is combined with a herbal macerate containing 37 botanicals. The exact recipe is kept secret, but the drink attains its character from cinchona bark, while other disclosed ingredients include vanilla, gentian, rhubarb, cloves, and cardamom.

The resulting vermouth is pale yellow with citrus and herbal aromas. Borgogno Bianco is a perfect aperitif, preferably served over ice and optionally served with a splash of soda.
