Vago Espadin from maestro mezcalero Emigdio Jarquin Ramirez is produced in Miahuatlan, Oaxaca. The maguey Espadin (agave Angustifolia) used in this mezcal is crushed by tahona and distilled in a copper refrescadera still. Emigdio is known throughout the region for his distilling expertise and all of his mezcal holds a high standard for the rest of the Miahuatlan region.

This award-winning mezcal follows a 1971 recipe passed down to Yola Jimenez by her grandfather. It is crafted from Espadín and Madrecuixe agaves, harvested at full maturity (7-10 years), and produced in San Juan del Río, Oaxaca. The mezcal is twice-distilled and fermented with wild yeast, resulting in a 45% ABV spirit.


Tasting notes include complex layers of roasted agave, caramel, vanilla, and spice, with a smoky, earthy aroma complemented by hints of herbs and citrus. The finish is long and smooth, featuring lingering smokiness and a touch of sweetness.
