Good Thunder is an American Reblochon-inspired cheese hailing from Mankato, Minnesota, where it's produced by Alemar Cheese. The cheese is made from pasteurized cow's milk and it's washed for 3 weeks in Surly's Bender beer (inspired by a character from the TV show Futurama).


After a couple more weeks, it develops an orange rind and a pungent aroma. The texture is dense and creamy, while the aromas are intense and strong. The flavor is creamy and it's recommended to pair Good Thunder with ciders and brown ales. Before consumption, let it come to room temperature.

Bent River is an American Camembert-style cheese produced in Mankato, Minnesota by Alemar Cheese. The cheese is made from pasteurized cow's milk and it ages for at least 5 weeks before it's sold. After six weeks, the cheese fully matures.


Underneath its bloomy rind, the texture is soft and smooth throughout. The aroma is mushroomy, while the flavors vary from mellow, buttery, delicate, and milky when young, to more robust and intense flavors with further aging. Bent River is named after the sharp turn in the Minnesota River.
