Aceite de Terra Alta

Aceite de Terra Alta is an extra virgin olive oil produced in the region of Terra Alta and a number of municipalities in the area of Ribera d'Ebre, in Catalonia. This olive oil is produced from predominantly the Empeltre variety or a blend of Empeltre and the Arbequina, Morruda or Farga olives using only mechanical processes that do not deteriorate its structure and organoleptic properties.

This oil is yellow to gold in color and has a sweet and pungent, very balanced aroma. The flavors and smell of this olive oil resemble that of almonds and unripe walnuts. All stages of processing and production of this oil, including bottling, must take place in the region of Terra Alta.
