Açorda de camarão

Recommended by Emanuele Siracusa and 4 other food critics.
"Tasca do Celso is a culinary institution in coastal Alentejo, and its owner, José Ramos Cardoso – his real name is not Celso, as you can see – is a character. It was the last chance we got to eat a good Açorda de camarão. Apart from the Açorda José/Celso also served us some gorgeous mackerel bruschettas, goose barnacles, and other treats, making it a perfect Alentejan dinner send-off."

Recommendations

"The town of Vila Nova de Milfontes has some great dining options – head to Tasca do Celso for a lively evening (I can recommend the clam and pork cataplana).
"The name of the dish refers to the specific breed of pork used, whose unique diet of Alentejo acorns is said to give it a rich flavor. A great place to stop and try carne de porco Alentejana on your way south is Tasca do Celso in Vila Nova de Milfontes."
"If you want a really delicious, albeit more expensive, dinner, make a dinner reservation at Tasca do Celso. This traditional Alentejo restaurant makes a godly Carne de Porco Alentejana."
"Such good açorda de camarão, Mr. Celso!"
"I recommend açorda de gambas. I've been going there for years and I have to admit I haven't tried anything else, but I believe everything is good!"

"We opted for açorda de camarão. Seasoning was on point, there was plenty of shrimps (peeled as is wanted), and we were delighted."
"The food is magnificent! I particularly like the prawns açorda from the fish dishes."
