Recommendations

"Wow! Never in my wildest dreams did I expect it to taste that good. It was unbelievably delicious. I am always searching for a good paella. Many people make it, but after I tasted the ones at La Barraca, it has been quite difficult to find a pretty good one."
"At this restaurant, which looks like a cozy family dining room, my mind was blown. We ordered their mixed paella (sans pork) and sighed our way through the meal in heaven."
"The black paella was my favourite, the squids were so soft and and tender and the rice had the taste of the sea."
"First opening in 1935, Barraca is credited with serving arguably the finest rices in all of Madrid. La Barraca is the perfect destination for those wanting to experience a more luxurious treat. The menu includes an incredible sixteen rice dishes. Try Arroz negro con calamar y chipirones here."
"When paella is prepared, it is cooked in a large dish serving two, so a choice had to be made as to which one we would share. In the end, the squid ink paella won more for something different, and different it was… but in a delectable way! We had earlier ordered some aioli dip to go with our bread, and this along with the paella turned out to be a great combination."

"Established 70 years ago, this restaurant is unpretentious and friendly, and our mixed paella with squid, mussels, halibut, chicken and pork was delicious."
"We ordered a tuna salad, olives and mixed paella, made with shrimp, pork, calamari and chicken. We agreed that La Barraca's paella was the best meal of our trip."
"After sampling the arroz negre at La Barraca I am more optimistic about the state of paella affairs in Madrid and strongly recommend this stellar location."
