"50 Top Pizza Europe Awards 2020: No.1 - 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo Pizzeria London. Let’s get to the pizzas: simply excellent in our opinion. They are like butter to a knife, a sign of quality products and a dough that has been left to leaven for a long time. The selection of pizzas is wide and varied (we counted 25 on the menu) which can satisfy all tastes: vegetarian, non-vegetarian, lovers of classic pizzas or the more particular ones."

"In recent years London has seen a renaissance in pizza offerings, with a host of Naples style pizzas, cooked in wood-fired ovens, appearing all over the city. There are several excellent ones, including Naples pizzeria offshoots such as 50 Kalo di Ciro Salvo near Trafalgar Square."

"Once satisfied the first basic instincts, we can move on to a pizza Margherita that should be used in training centers as a model of Neapolitan pizza in its best version: high hydration, no extreme crust, simply well outlined and in relief around the edge, intense and fragrant tomato and olive oil. The ingredients used are of the highest quality, directly imported."
"Originating in Naples, this place brings authentic pizza to Westminster."

"London's best pizza: 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo - 50 Kalò features on many a ‘best pizzas in London’ list and there is no question why. They are a short walk away from the hustle and bustle of Trafalgar Square and serve up authentic Neopolitan style pizza. They first opened in Naples in 2014 and a few years later brought their famous pizza to the UK. We can’t thank you enough 50 Kalo!"

"London has no shortage of great restaurants but finding them when you’re near touristy spots is really difficult. Just off Trafalgar Square you’ll find one of the best pizza restaurants in London – 50 Kalo di Ciro Salvo. The pizza list is much longer than I expect for an Italian pizzeria but the range is fantastic. You’ll also find a select list of Italian craft beers too."

"Neapolitan pizza is a mythical beast, the best of the best, but while other openings have kept to small, chic spots with ascetic menus, 50 Kalo, one of Naples’ finest, is bold, brash and welcoming. Sat in an entirely unsexy location by Trafalgar Square, the venue feels a bit naff, which makes the exceptional pizzas feel all the more like a secret just between you and them. This is good, good eating."

"This is pizza to furnish the soul. Here, surrounded by the boxes of imported Italian tomatoes, you must use your knife and fork just to scoop up all the glorious sauce pooled up on base. The Margherita was a marvel: a masterpiece of perfect cooking, the mozzarella (flown in from Campania) gooey all the way till the end. This is harder than it sounds to achieve: most pizzas end up with frisbees of cold cheese skimming over their surface. This is pizza at its purest – though not just for the purists.... Read more
"This is pizza to furnish the soul. Here, surrounded by the boxes of imported Italian tomatoes, you must use your knife and fork just to scoop up all the glorious sauce pooled up on base. This base is not thin and crispy or Chicago style fat. The depth of a business card, it is soft, Neapolitan style, with charring marking the base like tiger stripes. I had the Marinara – just plain tomato sauce, oil on a canvas, and oregano and garlic as flourishes. This is pizza at its purest – though not just ... Read more
"The pizzas are the stars of the show, each with a soft and thin Neapolitan-style base, complete with crispy outer edges and charring marks. We opted for the carbonara: a creamy white base topped with smoky strips of bacon, drizzles of oil and a dusting of pepper."
