Zazarac

Zazarac is a cocktail made with a combination of rye whiskey or Canadian whiskey, rum, anisette, gomme syrup, absinthe, orange bitters, and Angostura bitters. In order to prepare it, all ingredients should be shaken with ice, then strained into an old-fashioned glass garnished with lemon peel.

Notably, this cocktail was included in Harry MacElhone’s 1928 Harry’s ABC of Mixing Cocktails and Harry Craddock’s The Savoy Cocktail Book.
