"Here, at the Tortas Juancho, they have the best Torta de la barda, Tampico-style, made with beans, pork cheese, Spanish chorizo, ham, Manchego cheese, shredded cheese, beef, tomato, onion and lots of avocado. You must accompany them with green habanero sauce."

"My favorite Tortas de la Barda are from the small business called Los 3 Luceros, I recommend them, they are the best."

"To turn this Frankenstein of flavor into a real delicacy, torta is bathed in a green sauce with pork rinds. This sauce is served hot and is so spicy that as I eat it my nose runs. In any case, its flavor is so addictive that with the torta, a small plate with extra sauce is served for those who do not want to stop."

Tortas Chencho

Ciudad MaderoMexico
Av. Álvaro Obregón
"Try torta de la barda, it's one of the things to do in Tampico that you can't miss on your trip. Shredded meat, chorizo, ham, pork cheese, beans and avocado are the main ingredients of this delicacy that you can taste at Tortas Chencho."

"They serve the unique torta of Tampico. It seems to be standard that this is served with a slice of deli ham across the top; I peeled that back so the inner workings are exposed. Besides deli ham there’s shredded beef, very good chorizo, two kinds of cheese, chicharron, head cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado, maybe a little mayo, refritos. The bolillo was soft but nicely toasted, even charred a little."
