"The slaw was a lesson in chopped cabbage. It was lightly dressed and so crisp it tasted like it was made minutes before I got it. The beans were rich and surprisingly spicy from a heavy dose of black pepper. The pulled pork had a sweetness from the rub and was really juicy. A sweet glaze gave the pork ribs some pop and they were smoked to exemplary tenderness."
"The brisket was super solid. It was tender and flavorful and it had good smoke from the pecan. The pulled pork was definitely good. It was juicy, and the sweet rub gave it a nice taste. The homemade sides were excellent. They also make four barbecue sauces in house. I enjoyed them all, but I prefer the extreme and sweet because of the spiciness and sweetness respectively."
"If you find yourself in Lubbock and want to eat the best barbecue in town, The Shack is the place to go. With tender slices of perfectly smoked brisket and fall-off-the-bone ribs all served in generous portions, this is a smoky slice of paradise."
"The beef rib meat was fall-off-the-bone tender. I was able to cut the meat from the bone with a plastic knife with no resistance. It had a great smoky flavor and a lovely char to the meat. We didn't just stop at the beef rib though. There's isn't anything on the menu at The Shack that isn't delicious. They also offer three different kinds of BBQ sauces. My personal favorite is the sweet sauce and it adds a nice mild sweetness to the BBQ."
