“Doshi”, a sushi in the form of a doughnut. What was spectacular is that the bottom bun is deep-fried, giving a crunchy and sticky savoury flavour (like banh chung chien for my the Vietnamese food eaters)! It was very difficult to eat, but the mess came with any other novelty sushi, you better be seated when consuming it!"
"I love the thought of fusion and anything deep fried is amazing in my books. The proportion of toppings to the rice was perfect – as it sat there, the rice did not get soggy from them."
"I really liked the deep fried patty; it was super crispy. Although the sprinkling of the roe atop of the sushi pizza was a little bit of an overkill. Needlessness to say; it was still a great tasting sushi pizza."
"The deep-fried rice is warm and crispy against the cool smoothness of huge pieces of surprisingly good quality salmon on top. Japanese mayo, tobiko and green onions tie the dish together. This is comfort food Toronto style, oh joy!"
"It's built on a bed of rice (fried, so it's crunchy), with some spicy mayo, imitation crab, and then some salmon and tuna! It's delicious!"
"You can't go wrong with the Omakase (a mix of sashimi, sushi and maki), a lobster salad (with grapefruit, avocado and mango) and the delicious 'sushi pizza'."
"It’s one of the tallest sushi pizzas I’ve seen, making it a bit of a challenge to figure out how best to eat it. The crunchy rice provided a nice textural element and the spicy mayo was a nice touch."
