Stinger

The American classic known as Stinger is an after-dinner cocktail made with a combination of cognac and white crème de menthe. To prepare it, the ingredients are mixed with ice, stirred, then strained into a cocktail glass. The cocktail is often served with a pair of short straws.

Although not much is known about the origins of Stinger, it was one of the most popular pre-Prohibition drinks, and the first mention of it can be found in Tom Bullock’s 1917 book called Ideal Bartender.
