Serundeng

Serundeng is a traditional condiment that's typically associated with Java. It's made with a combination of roasted ground coconut and various spices and seasonings such as garlic, onions, turmeric, tamarind, lime leaves, chili peppers, coriander, galangal, Asian bay leaves, and sugar.

The spices and seasonings are ground into a paste, then fried and mixed with roasted grated coconut. The condiment is often enriched with roasted peanuts, providing extra crunch and flavor. Serundeng is usually sprinkled over dishes such as ketupat, soto soup, or sticky rice.
