Pandoro, or pan d’oro (lit. golden bread), is a classic Veronese sweet bread served in Italian households during the Christmas season. However, pandoro should not be mistaken with panettone, a similar sweet bread containing raisins and various candied citrus fruit. Pandoro is a beautifully elegant dessert made with wheat flour, mother yeast, sugar, category A fresh chicken eggs, butter, salt, and vanilla. Apart from its silky smooth texture and golden crust, what makes pandoro stand out is its eight-pointed star shape.
