This recipe shows you how to prepare the nikolaschka cocktail the proper, traditional way by by pouring Cognac into a snifter glass which is topped with a lemon disk, sugar, and ground coffee. The recipe is adapted from www.falstaff.at.
4 cl (40 ml) (1 1/3 oz) Cognac
1 lemon slice (15 mm thick)
½ tsp ground coffee
½ tsp caster sugar
Pour the Cognac into the snifter.
Place the lemon slice on top of the glass, then put half a teaspoon of sugar on one side of the slice and half of a teaspoon of ground coffee on the other half.
