Mulato chile

Mulato is a dried chile pepper variety from central Mexico with a smoky and sweet flavor and mild heat. Its flavor has hints of licorice, coffee, cherries, and chocolate. Along with ancho and pasilla chiles, mulato is a key ingredient in the famous mole poblano sauce.
