This classic mint julep recipe is adapted from www.thelittleepicurean.com.
7-10 fresh mint leaves
2 sugar cubes
2 1/2 oz (75 ml) (7,5 cl) bourbon
mint sprig, for garnish
Muddle mint and two sugar cubes in a silver mint julep cup.
Add the crushed ice, and pour in the bourbon, then stir.
Top with more crushed ice, so it looks like a cone at the top.
Smack the mint sprig with the palm of your hand to release the flavors, then garnish the cocktail.
If adding a straw, place it next to the mint, so you can smell the mint each time you go for a sip.
