Maximin Grünhaus is a historic winery located in Mertesdorf, near the confluence of the Ruwer River and the Mosel in Germany. Owned by the von Schubert family, the estate comprises three adjacent yet distinct vineyards: Abtsberg, Herrenberg, and Bruderberg.

Each of these vineyards has unique terroir characteristics, reflected in the distinctive character of the wines produced here. The first documented evidence of the Grünhaus estate, then known as "Villa ad Valles," dates back to February 6, 966. Emperor Otto I confirmed a donation made in the 7th century by Frankish King Dagobert.

At that time, the buildings, vineyards, and surrounding land were given to the Benedictine Abbey of Saint Maximin in Trier. In 1882, the estate was purchased by an ancestor of Carl von Schubert, who is now the fifth generation of his family to own and manage the Grünhaus estate.
