This recipe for a traditional straight up margarita, meaning the drink is chilled with ice, then strained, is adapted from the International Bartenders Association's website.
3.5 cl (35 ml) (1,2 oz) tequila
2 cl (20 ml) (0,7 oz) Cointreau
1.5 cl (15 ml) (0,5 oz) freshly squeezed lime juice
GARNISH
salt on the rim
Shake all the ingredients in a shaker with ice, then strain into a margarita glass rimmed with salt.
