La Raimà, also known as Battle of the Grapes, takes place on the last Friday of August in the Spanish town of Pobla del Duc.
At this fruit-throwing festival, five or more trucks distribute 90 tonnes of ‘Garnacha Tintorera’ grapes among the participants who then engage in a grape fight. The fight lasts until every last grape has been thrown and every participant is covered in a sticky, sweet purple mess.
