"Inipit is a well-known Filipino snack, but in my opinion, it’s nothing particularly special. It consists of two soft sponge cake layers with a sweet filling in between, but despite its simplicity, it doesn’t stand out among the many delicious treats the Philippines has to offer. While I don’t dislike it and will eat it when available, I find that other local snacks and desserts are far more flavorful and satisfying. Perhaps its appeal depends on where you get it, as different regions have their own versions, some better than others. Unfortunately, with its growing popularity, many commercialized versions have sacrificed taste and quality for mass production. The texture can sometimes be too dry, and the filling lacks the rich, homemade quality that could make it more enjoyable. Overall, inipit is a decent snack, but with so many amazing Filipino desserts, it wouldn’t be my first choice."
