This recipe is courtesy of the City Museum Požega, whose project Museum in a Pot works to preserve local Slavonian dishes and recipes.
½ l milk
1 kg pastry flour
1 tsp sugar
40 g fresh yeast
1 tbsp sunflower oil
300 g bacon
Dissolve yeast and a teaspoon of sugar in a small amount of lukewarm water. Set aside until it froths.
Meanwhile, cut the bacon into larger sticks, about the same size.
Make a dough from all the ingredients, except bacon, then leave it in a warm place until doubled in size.
Stretch the dough out to the size of a baking pan, then place it into the greased baking pan.
Arrange the bacon pieces on top of the dough at equal intervals, then cut the dough into equal squares.
Bake at 200°C for about half an hour.
