Hpnotiq | Local Liqueur From New York City, United States of America | TasteAtlas

Hpnotiq

Hpnotiq is a blue-colored liqueur made with premium vodka, a blend of tropical fruit juices, and Cognac. The exact recipe and what gives the liqueur its color has not been revealed, but it is known that the brand uses triple-distilled French vodka and several Cognac blends.

The drink was created in 2001 by Raphael Yakoby, a Long Island native who later partnered with Nick Storm. The drink rose to prominence after it was featured in videos and songs by prominent rap artists. Hpnotiq is a light liqueur (bottled at 17% ABV, 34 proof), and it has citrusy aromas and tropical fruit flavors.

It can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, and it is commonly incorporated into cocktails. It can mix well with vodka, Champagne, or coconut rum. Although it originated in New York, Hpnotiq is produced in France.
