"The menu is not extensive. Everyone comes to Huto Fudo mainly for the special local cuisine : Hotou which is noodle and vegetables in miso soup served in extra hot casserole (¥1080). Beware the portion size of their popular Houtou as it is big enough for 2. It is nice for a really cold day, worth a try for the experience."

"Houtou Fudou is the local noodle chain around the Mount Fuji area. The thick wheat noodle, or Houtou, boiled in miso soup, is served in a big metal pot with tofu, mushrooms and vegetables. A very appropriate dish for a cold day."

"Hoto Noodle (1,050 yen) in large iron bowl contains pumpkin, taro, onions, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, mushrooms and flat udon noodles in miso soup. It was indeed a ‘huge’ portion for me. To my surprise, I finished the whole bowl by myself. I missed it so much."
