Ann is a rare and exceptional beer from Hill Farmstead Brewery, representing a barrel-aged version of their honey ale Anna, crafted as part of the prestigious Ancestral Series. Its base is an ale fermented with Vermont wildflower honey, which is then aged for one to three years in French wine barrels.
With an ABV of around 6.5%, Ann is a farmhouse ale of great complexity and layered depth in both aroma and flavor. It pours a pale golden to light amber color, with fine effervescence and a delicate head - visually serene yet inviting.
The aroma features citrus, lemon, green apple, wild honey, and subtle earthy tones, along with gentle woody and mineral nuances gained from extended barrel aging. The taste is harmonious and refined - a balanced combination of refreshing citrus notes, floral honey, and a hint of rustic character, resulting in an elegant and well-rounded profile.
Lightly carbonated and medium-light in body, the beer finishes fresh and mildly tart.
