"Favorite cheese of all time especially with the nigella seeds on top that's when it really hits. The only thing I don't like is that you can not melt it for too long (its best melted)."
"Halloumi varies from area to area. It is now regionalized. The best one is Pissourkotiko (from Pissouri village)"
"For everyone saying that halloumi is "squaky", that is only if its made wrong. It is supposed to be eaten right after being fried, so its melted and has a more thick but melted texture. Definetely one of the best cheeses, if not the best. Heavily underrated."
"Halloumi... my beloved. What a fantastic cheese. Frying cheeses have always bamboozled and intrigued me. Many milder non-melting cheeses are used to amplify and refine a dish that is already full of flavour. But Halloumi? She is the star of her own show. She's salty and tangy and full of flavour. She crisps off beautifully on a grill or a in a pan and caramelizes into this gorgeous little pocket of deliciousness that reminds me of the sea. She's great deepfried in batter too- but I don't think she needs it!! She pairs great with salads, with a little honey and maybe a scatter of pomegranate. So refreshing!!! I can't rate her more than 4 stars as I'm not a huge fan of raw halloumi, though perhaps i haven't found the right dish yet! Also, i feel like after frying her you don't have long to finish her up before she starts to get a bit rubbery and a bit squeaky. Still a FANTASTIC cheese and a staple for many people! What a versatile little star. Three cheers for halloumi; HIP HIP HORRAY!!!!"
"For the life of me I cannot figure out the UK obsession with the stuff. Pretty much a salty "squeeky" version of paneer. At least you can set it on fire."
"It squeaks while you eat it"
"Fresh halloumi is excellent for grillng and fot the summer aged halloumi goes with cold watermelon.🤤🤤"
"Little salty, but tasty"
"Great unique cheese, need to unsalt it before eating, and particularly pleasing when grilled or slightly fried in butter."
