Weingut Günther Steinmetz is a family-owned winery located in Brauneberg, in the Mosel region of Germany. The winery spans approximately 12 hectares of steep slopes around Brauneberg and neighboring communities. Their vineyards include prestigious sites such as Brauneberger Juffer, Kestener Paulinshofberg, Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Wintricher Geierslay and Oligsberg, Mülheimer Sonnenlay, Veldenzer Grafschafter Sonnenberg, and Dhroner Hofberg, where they produce their finest Rieslings and Pinot Noirs.
The winery is currently led by Stefan and Sammie Steinmetz, representing the fifth generation of the family dedicated to viticulture. Their winemaking philosophy is rooted in respect for tradition and nature. In the vineyards, they focus on classic grape varieties, while in the cellar, they avoid additives such as selected yeasts, enzymes, and other aids, allowing for spontaneous fermentation in large wooden or stainless steel vessels.
