JUMP TO RECIPE

We strongly advise you to read the cooking tips before jumping to the recipe though

Tips

  • variations

There are numerous variations on the basic gin fizz. The most noted variations include silver fizz, golden fizz, and royal fizz, made with the addition of an egg white, an egg yolk, and a whole egg, respectively. Diamond fizz is made with sparkling wine instead of soda water, while purple fizz is made with Sloe gin and grapefruit juice instead of gin and lemon juice.
  • sugar or syrup

Although the traditional recipe calls for sugar, sugar syrup is nowadays preferred since its already liquid, unlike sugar which needs a lot of shaking to dissolve.
  • drinkware

A gin fizz is served in a tumbler glass, meaning a highball glass. A Collins glass, or an old fashioned glass are all an option.
  • egg white

If making a version with an egg white included, first do the dry shake —shake all the ingredients, except the ice, in a shaker so that the foam can form. Then, add the ice and shake again to strengthen the foam and chill the drink.
