Geplak

Geplak is a traditional confectionery and a type of sweet snack that’s especially popular in Bantul, Yogyakarta. This sweet is made from grated coconut and sugar, usually in equal parts and brightly colored. There are many versions of geplak, made with different ingredients and flavorings such as citrus leaves, waluh fruit, oranges, strawberries, durian, ginger, nuts, and rice flour.


Geplak are small in size, and their colorful visual appearance makes people curious to taste them. The sweet is sometimes eaten while still warm.
