JUMP TO RECIPE

We strongly advise you to read the cooking tips before jumping to the recipe though

Tips

  • sugar/simple syrup

To make a simple syrup, mix equal parts of sugar and hot water until sugar has dissolved. Wait until the syrup cools and then store it in a bottle.
  • variations

A common variation of French 75 is one when gin is replaced with brandy or Cognac.
  • garnish

The IBA recipe does not list any garnishings. However, a lemon peel is an often used garnish. If using a lemon peel garnish, it is recommended to peel the lemon over the cocktail, so the oils get expressed into the drink.
  • drinkware

The standard option is a Champagne flute, but older recipes for French 75 state that a highball glass was used in the early days of the cocktail.
