Fête de la crevette, or the Shrimp Festival, started in 1994 and is annually held in Honfleur in the beginning of October. Visitors can buy different kinds of fish and shrimp from the huge fish market, watch the ancient ship procession, attend various exhibitions, concerts and cooking demonstrations.

During two days the city is full of events dedicated to shrimp, and the main one is a shrimp-peeling competition.
